Free Fall

dievca is looking for some new kicks for the Autumn. she ran into this pair of Nike Shoes:

Nike Womens Free-5.0 TR Fit 4 Print

The print has been out since the summer and is sold out in dievca’s size on the Nike website.   dievca talked to customer service and there are none in the Nike store system…  She tried to look around the web and almost got scammed by a bad website.  But, guess which site had the shoes? A website that dievca trusts and uses often… Yes, you guessed it!  eBay.

Now the doubts creep in because dievca is not seeing the shoe in person — are the shoes cool enough for $115? too plaid? Will it look clownish? or just unique? will they get her through a long day?

C’mon dievca, it is just a pair of sneakers!
(And your whole presentation to the World…)

Why I was laughing at myself in the post is — Master is a Buddhist and minimal with his material goods, I have too much and have been culling my closet slowly.
      I don’t need the shoes, I want the shoes…
Two pairs of sneakers were falling apart, so I am counting what pairs I have left and determining my need/desire/cash on hand/how I want to present/etc.
All for a pair of fashion sneakers….

Saying to myself, “Uhh, Hello, there are more important things in life~.”
      🙂

    Master’s comment about sneakers:
“Sneakers and fashion don’t meet in my mind.”

    My reply:
Sneakers = Fashion. You are out of the loop. Sneakers are BIG fashion right now. They have been shown on the runways of Valentino, Miu Miu, Chanel, etc.

    Master:
Add an adverb: Deliberately….out of the loop.

Guess dievca will NOT be presenting in sneakers. XO

Now, I am not convinced about the print but I do like a cool sneaker. (Did you decide to get them?) In saying that I don’t really own any cool sneakers. I had a feeling Master wouldn’t like them. He and my husband might have similar tastes. I learnt just this week that a particular staple in my wardrobe particularly displeases my man–he says it makes me look like a school cleaning lady. Charming. My attempts to express that it was my play on an artist’s smock that I can accessorize with a color splashed scarf fell on deaf ears.
I just bought a leather dress in INA this lunchtime that you would appreciate, me thinks 🙂

Ummm – I did get the sneakers. AND I LOVE THEM! They look better than I thought and it saves my good running shoes for running.
I am sorry about the smock, I hate when that happens – you feel like you have a fabulous vibe going in a certain outfit and the one who sees you the most says, “That’s not really flattering.” Deflated Balloon…
The leather dress from INA sounds gorgeous — I love looking through their pieces. I am still trying to “edit” my closet (as I buy shoes…) so I haven’t stopped by the store or looked on the internet as much. You have such a lovely build I know you will carry leather well — What is the color of the dress?
