dievca’s Mother spoke
Misery likes company sadly.
I guess. That is sad, huh?
Besides annoying, moms can be wise too! Now that I’m *ahem* a little older I recognize that 🙂
She is becoming more contemplative with age and of the mind that “Youth is wasted on the Young”. 🙂
I wholeheartedly agree. You mom is wise.
She’s been saying some Gems, lately. This one was emphatic and sincere. She was honestly befuddled why people make themselves unhappy.
I think you get to the point in your life where you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that all the worry and the angst and the frustration doesn’t get you where you need to be any faster. It is then that you can still have joy and give joy even in the midst of pain. We will all experience pain, but joy is a choice.
agreed…we lead lives out of balance too often 😦
It’s o.k. sometimes, that is life. But, I am trying to regroup and go forward with a positive attitude consistently — it seems to be working.
your brain replays what it hears most often, even if not the truth. the best thing is never, ever put yourself down…don’t say “i’m an idiot” or “i screwed up again”…make it about the situation, “what ashame (whatever) didn’t work out.” being kinder to yourself by editing what you say about you, changes that running commentary that replays in your head, which will reinforce a happier self-image.
