Yes, worn by Marion Cotillard at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, but still quite unique.

Or…the only dress dievca really liked from the Maison Margiela 2015 John Galliano Show.

i kind of like the face covering…it puts the emphasis on the dress. looking at the actress’s face is a distraction. xx

  2. It’s…umm… unhuggable. But I’m sure someone will just ignore the dress entirely and kiss her inner thighs and it won’t really matter. Ahem. Good Monday to you, dievca.

Ooh missy you just made me fall down the wormhole that is EBay!
That’s a “breezy” little number but certainly presentation worthy. I enjoyed the Galliano for Margiela show myself. Although it was heavier on the Galliano than the Margiela…
    xo

Uhhh—should I be sorry about the eBay or happy for you? 😀
On Galliano, I think that was holding me back from liking the new collection – it was more Galliano than Margiela. But, I guess that is the point, right? You are hiring the someone’s talent and vision. I should just be taking the pieces on their own – not worrying about the name. Let me re-look.

I totally agree that her face showing is a distraction. She should have worn her hair down at least. Hair up is too clean cut for the dress.

Quite diverse and quite the presentation.

    • dievca says:

Do you think her hair would get caught in all the the little fiddly pieces on the dress? Hair pulling, but not in a good way. Maybe that is why it is up. 🙂

  5. I join the voices on the head piece. The dress was clearly made to be worn with it – Cotillard looks like she is wearing half a dress in my view! Have yet to catch up with the Galliano/Margiela show – somehow I’m not in a hurry but will do… xxx

I would like to see the head piece with a face –would it be like the Vintage headpieces? (I cannot remember which decade they appeared – 70’s?)
