To celebrate a special moment

AperativoRH_900

Aperativo for Royal Leerdam Crystal 2009.
A series of glass dildo’s on a champagne glass stem,
to celebrate special moments.

Glass is the perfect hygienic material for this kind of objects therefore Richard Hutten designed a dildo on a stem of a drinking glass. As an object for inspiration, to get in to the mood rather than using it, which makes it more of an anti-dildo.

Yes, Art is to inspire and allow the imagination to soar –
Master is well-capable to take it from there.

I was a little bummed about the fragility, too. I don’t know — I don’t think I am up for keeping the “tchotchkes” out….NYC apartments are small and everything needs a dual purpose. XO

  2. Uh uh!! I feel uncomfortable in the knowledge that these are breakable objects. Even if I know they are made to be looked at only… I’d prefer something to look at AND use 🙂

Sometimes I wonder how artists find/develop/pursue their vision. Did he find the Crystal company to complete his idea? Did the Crystal company ask him to develop something for a collection? Who has bought the items?

  5. Beautiful to be sure but to only look at? I would be too tempted to put them to use.
