The “Backdrop” Dom

Something Master dreaded doing and something dievca thought would be relatively easy. dievca was correct.
Master’s closet is not as nearly extensive as dievca’s and He had items that He no longer wears, seriously used items that needed to be replaced, items that were the wrong size or from the 1990’s, etc. Easy sorting.
Three large garbage bags to Goodwill, one bag to be thrown out and one bag to upcycle, the clear-out left Master’s closet looking sleek, clean and a bit empty. dievca had made a list of items to be replaced. (Some advice, don’t clear out the underwear drawer unless you have bought new to replace it — you might find yourself in a bit of a bind…)
After the Holidays, Master and dievca wanted to take advantage of the sales and replenish Master’s closet. The Brooks Brother’s semi-annual sale was on the agenda and Paul Stuart is located in the same area. As soon as dievca and Master walked into Paul Stuart, they realized that the offerings were not Master. He runs more conservative and simple with clothing. Whoops, off to Brooks Brothers.
Brooks Brothers is absolutely right for Master and absolutely wrong for dievca — not her style of clothing. dievca felt bad and asked Master if he would like to see her dressed in a more conservative manner. Master just laughed.
“Don’t you realize that I am the simple Backdrop to show-off my glamorous submissive? When you present yourself well, you honor me. I am the cake and you are the icing. Brooks Brothers is fading into the woodwork for you.”
Whew. Thank goodness, dievca couldn’t see herself in many of the offerings and she prefers to spend her money elsewhere, but she would have done it if Master asked.
He just knows His dievca very well.
If you are a lover of Brooks Brothers conservative fashion, let dievca show you some offerings. Now there are some pieces dievca would consider (Trench/Polka Dot pieces/Cuff), but overall it is just not a brand for her. XO
Am with you on the polka dots. Skirt and top combo on the top right is rather fetching too.

The Gallery is set at ‘random’ so I’m not sure which outfit, but there are some gems — I just didn’t get the immediate ‘warm and fuzzies’ when wandering the Women’s section. Too Prep School — I did that in the 1980’s, which is what they are trying to be. Makes sense.

He said it in the store — so matter of fact as I was on the hunt. I just stopped and looked at him in amazement.

Your Master’s words are swoon-worthy! I remember the preppy 80s and I’m not going back. I hope he filled his closet well.

The words took me by surprise, it’s something I never really thought about – but it is true. We are still working on purchasing a few items — maybe a quick post about it.

yes! you’re the glamorous one 🙂 smart Master. and, occasionally i’ll find something from talbot’s, too…but overall that level of preppy isn’t me. xx

Don’t get me wrong — M. looks handsome, but it is almost a uniform for him. Simple and clean lines. I haven’t been to a Talbot’s in years, but they had a flyer/catalog a couple of years ago that had some interesting things. XO

This was beautiful! To hear those words must have put wings under your feet for days.

It took me by surprise, I was focused on getting M. what he looked comfortable and happy in — never thinking that there was something else going on behind the scenes. Made me smile. XO

BB would hold no interest for me either but I reckon Dievca could break out a little frothy lace peekaboo from underneath that trench coat and it would take on an entirely different image… 🙂
