It’s been awhile ~

It’s been awhile. A tough year has caused changes in traveling, work, play and Life. The more people I have spoken to about 2015, the more I realize that others have had to deal with crises, as well.
I am not alone.
No man is an Iland, intire of itselfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee. MEDITATION XVII Devotions upon Emergent Occasions John Donne
Hard to remember when you are failing, flailing.
In my dream, the lines blur:
Focus – distraction – lost
Children – No Children – Lack of Family
Happiness – Sadness – Disappointment
Sharing – Separation – Loss
Life – Death – Panic
Overwhelmed, I begin to bleed words.
Erupting and spilling from my fingers.
Until my eyes remember your gaze.
Until my ears hear your voice.
Until my body feels your touch.
Steadying me.
Stitches to hold the blood.
Guiding me back to some semblance of reality.
Touching – Listening – Learning – Healing – Strengthening
It’s been a really tough year, 2015.
Sorry to hear that 2015 has been rough. Hope things turn around soon x

Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never Is, but always To be blest:
The soul, uneasy and confin’d from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.

An Essay on Man, Epistle I, 1733
You have faced challenge. You know grief. You understand compassion on profound levels. You also know joy in its myriad forms. You are not alone.

Thank you. I had a day where I called, texted, emailed — EVERYONE. That’s where the “No Man is an Island” came to mind. Actually, I think that was the day I wrote this~ Sometimes we get wrapped up with our lives (especially in NYC) and forget to do the simple connections for health.

Sorry to hear, D. With the arrival of Spring, I hope things are on the up. The inevitable cycle of life. It seems you’re due. Hoping change has already knocked on your door before you even read this XO!

Thanks – Jackie. I actually hopped a flight out of town (on a desperate run) to friends in FL. I’ve been coddled and then I cooked in the sun. I heard the weather hasn’t been so stellar in NYC. I hope that changes for all of us soon. Love to you and yours.

You are in my thoughts, dievca.
Be well, have hope, allow others to carry your load, as you have helped to carry theirs on occasion.

Thank you, Ash. Your thoughts are very kind and welcome. Not sure how much I help others, but perhaps there is always love to be shared. XO

Yes, 2015 has been a bitch so far. You are in good company though. Deep breath, and one foot in front of the other.
