I want to grow old gracefully.

Pina Bausch - Dancer

Pina Bausch – Dancer

I want to grow old gracefully
With kindness
Be interesting to talk to
and be able to listen carefully

I want young people to find comfort with me
Feel that I am trustworthy
Be an asset – not a burden
and know that I will support their dreams

I say these things
But will I be able to do it
When the pain and loneliness crash in
and my old friends and family are gone

All I can do is hope and try
To grow old gracefully

  1. What a pity Pina left us so quickly – but she was graceful till the end. xxx

Wow — she was quite young when she passed away. A beautiful dancer and she looked to be an elegant person. I just hope to have an iota of grace at the end.

I shared that video on FB just the other day. What a beautiful gift to give that woman. I truly believe purposefully determining to grow old gracefully is key. Kindness keeps one young.

I agree — that was quite a gift for Ms. Barker. She beamed. Her smile is the same as when she is young. I loved when she told her story about dancing naked before her bath. Not too much, not too little. Enough for sharing the joy. Amazing.

  3. To grow old gracefully…define old! Grins. Well,if we cannot be graceful in the aging, let us be mouthy and dance and dance and dance.

  4. Utterly fabulous! xxx

Aw. Bless her and her dancing feet. I can’t help thinking she watched and wondered a little “Who is that young pretty thing?” I mean, I look at images of myself 20yrs ago and barely recognize myself so I imagine if physically you change, it must be more markedโ€ฆ
To growing old gracefully! Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚
