Keeping Time

“dievca, have you seen my Seiko watch?”
“Uhhh, no, I think it might have gotten lost in the hospital when you had surgery.”
“Ahhh, got it.”
“Master, a couple of things were damaged and thrown out, but I think that is the only thing that got lost…not too bad of odds. Do you want me to call the hospital?”
“No, we are fine. I’ll just wear my Longines watch”

“Great watch, Master, I haven’t seen you wear it much.”
“It’s not something practical to travel in.”
“Are you going to get another Seiko for travel?”

“You know, Master, I don’t wear watches as much but I have a Tag Heuer from the late 80’s / early 90’s and it’s held up really well. Part of the Formula 1 line — they have started that line, again.”

“Nice watch, dievca. I’ll look into it.”

“dievca, the Formula 1 line for the Tag Heuer is the lower price point, but it seems to have a good reputation and I like the look. What about this one?”

“Master, this is more expensive that your Seiko — wasn’t that the point of the Seiko, being inexpensive and nondescript?”
“dievca, I’m not going to be traveling to Majority World/developing countries as much and I would like to have a practical daily watch, but a nice watch — as opposed to my dress watch. I can always pick up a Timex if I need something inexpensive.”

“Ahhh…(dievca is thinking)”
“Master, may I purchase this watch for you for your Birthday?”
“We’ll see.”
