dievca’s NYC -all things Chinese weekend – ChinatownPosted: August 29, 2015
After the High Line and work, dievca went with a friend and her friend’s 80 year old Mother to Fishs Eddy. Fishs Eddy is a store that offers an eclectic selection of flatware, dishes & glasses, from funky to vintage styles. The original store is located near Gramercy Park.
dievca picked up some French traditional water glasses. No…they don’t look like these High Ball glasses, but she had to share the photos with you.
After Fishs Eddy, the ladies made their move to Canal street and into Chinatown.
dievca’s friend’s Mother was an expert at negotiating the various food stores in Chinatown. Knowing where to buy fruit, seafood, dry goods and dumplings, she was a speed demon doing 80 mph. Amazing with navigating the crowds. It was an Art.
Before going to the last store, it was time to have Dim Sum at a local joint. Only Chinese spoken — numbers called in Chinese, crowded, tables shared with others and fabulous food and tea.
2nd Half of dievca’s “All Things Chinese” weekend coming up in September.
The Met’s “China: Through the Looking Glass”.
