Choices.

“Life provides all of us with a series of choices. Choices we make determine how successful we are. When you acknowledge that you and only you are responsible and accountable for the choices you make and when you refuse to blame others for the choices you have made, you have in your hands the blueprint for success. When you allow others to choose your path so that you can then blame someone else when things don’t go your way, you are fooling no one and cheating no one but yourself. When you accept the fact that you are in your present condition, good or bad, because of the choice you have made, you will then find yourself capable of changing your situation by making better choices. No one but you determines your success in life.” — Lou Holtz

dievca is reviewing her Life:  her choices, her successes and failures.  she knows that she can survive in the City, she should be able to survive almost anywhere — but while dievca is dog paddling to stay afloat here, she forgets there are other choices available.

(A young friend got mugged at 3:00 am outside of his apartment on the UWS – broken nose and eye socket — reconstructive surgery. This coming after another friend moved to FL after a mugging…both gentlemen are young, handsome and gay. dievca hasn’t had a glimpse of anything on her end, but she is usually asleep at 3:00 am and she’s also old, ugly and not gay… But, it does make one think about what choices and options are available for the future. Time to talk to Master.)

I am sorry about your friends. There is no way you are ugly. I don’t have to see you to know this. One’s character always shines through.

Very generous you are — I know, I don’t scare babies. Just “the boys” are so adorable. I was once adorable, too, but am only “adorable” in M.’s eyes — now. I’m good with that. XO

I lost the comments I sent back on this post. Strange. If you are willing to copy them and send them back, please do.

  7. I partly agree with the quote. I do think that you can change things. But there are just conditions that are out of your control like where you’re born and who your parents are.and those things shape you
