Made dievca think: Make Up

Cartoon Putting Make-Up on

Are you guilty?  dievca is guilty.
How many times has she put make-up on in the car….while driving.
How many times have you done it?
(Ok, Gentlemen, you can chime up for this, too! XO)

Daily Mail UK: Nearly 1/2 the Women who drive apply make behind the wheel and cause 450K Car accidents per year.

dievca has never caused an accident due to her inattention to traffic because of make-up.
Thank Goodness!

Now? You will be happy to know that dievca does not own a car. Therefore, she is not behind the wheel putting on make-up anymore… Instead, she does the NYC version and sometimes puts her make-up on in a cab, on the subway, or she catches herself watching people (Men and Women — it’s NYC, people!) putting their make-up on. It is fascninating — she is not alone. It’s the opportunity to be a voyeur into someone’s personal life. Plus, you might learn some cool application tricks.

Yes, some people are offended. But for some reason dievca will get upset about people cutting their nails, but not when someone puts mascara on their eyelashes without poking out their eyeball.

Go figure~dievca has various levels of tolerances for public grooming.

New York Magazine: “I love when people do their make-up in the subway.”

Applying make up whilst driving is beyond stupid. Wonder if any cyclists have ever put on MU whilst cycling? X

i used to have a ford capri – i loved that little car… but she had strange ideas of her own… in the cold weather she would start like a dream – run for 10 minutes exactly and then just stop – STOP…. so, i learnt to leave the house 10 minutes early – drive then 9 minutes later, park by the side of the road and let her run till she hit 10 minutes – then she would just cut out. i would put my make up on, brush my messy crazy locks – all of this would take a further 10 minutes. Id turn the key and off we would go…. so yes, i have put on make up in the car….

on public transport – i agree – it is fascinating watching lovely creatures make themselves up … i have, along the way, picked up may a trick…. BUT…..

CUTTING NAILS, SQUEEZING SPOTS, PICKING NOSES AND INSPECTING EAR WAX IS SO TOTALLY DISGUSTING…. BECAUSE … what do you do with the nail clippings, snot and ear wax… they get put on the floor or the seats on buses or trains.. now that is disgusting…

much love delicious one x xx

Hilarious about your car! Yes, I guess make-up is self-contained. The make-up is added to the face, not much hits the floor. The other personal grooming items are being taken away from your body….

      • missagathaarmstrong says:

and its just not nice to think that you might sit on old snot or ear wax, or travel the day with dirty nail clippings on the bottom of your shoe or handbag….

i truly do believe that there are certain things best done in the privacy of ones on home…

and yes – – – i have seen cyclists put on their makeup and lipstick at the lights… so they are just as bad x

  4. 😀 As long as it don’t get on me, I don’t really pay much attention. 😀

  5. While I’ve yet to see a man putting on makeup in a car I have seen them shaving in the car.

🙋🏼 I’m guilty and do this often while driving. Although with Southern California traffic I can apply while inching along and can get the job done just trying to get on the highway.

I remember my mother saying, “I’m putting on my face” before she went to work in the mornings. I sat and watched, fascinated. It’s a very intimate moment…a reveal when in practice the act is one of hiding and concealing and false…what a fun post for a Friday, d. TGIF and have a most marvelous weekend. Muah- Ret

My Mom was an artist with make-up and her disappointing daughter? Very slapdash – au naturel. It might be generational. Air Spun loose powder, Abolene cream for removal, etc. Interesting note – I’m here with my Mom this weekend. She is in her mid 80’s and no longer interested in “putting her face on”. I am embarrassed to say that I miss her ritual application and removal. It was like the tide. Soothing. (and never done in the car…)

Sending love – have a good weekend, too.

  8. No, no, nooooo!!
I have never done this; never would.
