Define Asshole…

assholeNo, dievca’s not talking about anal sex.

She’s been dealing with a Gentleman who she defines as an

vulgar slang
  1. the anus.
    • an irritating or contemptible person.

And she wants to make sure that she got the verbiage right.

Moral philosopher Aaron James, in his 2012 book, Assholes: A Theory, gives a more precise meaning of the word, particularly to its connotation in the United States:

A person, who is almost always male, who considers himself of much greater moral or social importance than everyone else; who allows himself to enjoy special advantages and does so systematically; who does this out of an entrenched sense of entitlement; and who is immunized by his sense of entitlement against the complaints of other people. He feels he is not to be questioned, and he is the one who is chiefly wronged.

Yes, dievca did get her choice of verbiage correct.

Thank you for letting her work it out.

I have never embraced this crude term; but I am in full support. Someone earning the title from you, must be deserving.

    • dievca says:

Sometimes things are not pretty and cannot be covered. I run blunt and have a tendency to call a spade a spade — and I prefer direct honesty in return. I’ll recover and heal faster, rather than being strung along because of being “nice”. I have the term right and will use it sparingly to be effective. I promise.

  4. Let him have it if he deserves it.
