A little bit brutal and a little bit warped.

We know dievca is Slovak. Not Czech, not Hungarian, not Austrian — Sugar Beet farmers and Soldiers. It gets worse…the other half is Ukrainian. That’s the half that has the true green thumb. Everything grows when dievca touches it. Weird.
The Ukrainian side also comes with weird and wonderful relatives, a fatalistic view on life, and some warped mentalities. One cousin thought he was Jesus. The smart as hell, direct, brutally honest, or complete fantasy genetic side. The ability to go loopy, rides just under the surface. Let’s not sugar coat it. dievca has been known to flip out, too.
Welcome to the Roller Coaster.
OK, Russia assumes that the Ukraine is part of Russia — and kinship or not, that’s not a direction dievca (or дівчина) wants to analyze. But, she is going to make the link for Ukrainian craziness = Russian craziness
dievca ran into this video from the Russian band Leningrad and loved it.
Like the Beatles album, you can run it forward or backwards….
Warning: it’s quite graphic (and fatalistic).

The VERGE: This music video is absurd to watch, forward and backward

That’s an interesting part of the world – and some serious geniuses have that same lineage.

And my point about their being a little loopy? Correct, right?

I’ve been to Slovakia once and loved it! Never been to Ukraine though

For once in my Life, when I went to Slovakia — everyone looked like me! I get mistaken for German quite a lot, “Ich spreche kein Deutsch” — but Slovak it is~~ (sneaky people, so I hear…)

I didn’t feel like everybody in Slovakia looked the same but maybe that’s because I went there with a different perspective of course. I wouldn’t even say there is a certain German way to look but then again people tell me too I look German 😀
I don’t know much about Slovaks. No idea if they’re sneaky 😀

Growing up around a lot of kids from Irish descent, I was the odd looking one…darker hair, big light eyes, larger nose, curvy/muscular build. There is a “look”.

I’ve only lived around Germans basically. So I’ve never noticed stuff like that 😀

Just one opinion — developed from seeing the Russians in Brooklyn and my family members…Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria — all very nice to visit for a change of pace. Good beer! (and goulash)

Yeah, ok Ukrainians are a tiny bit hardcore but I didn’t know they had the green thumb! (I feel I said that before, did I?)… 🙂 xoxoxo

Isn’t the Ukraine “the breadbasket” of Europe?

Hehe I’ve never heard that one before… It’s definitely our natural gas supplier on account of the pipelines running through it from Russia… so we need to be really careful when the disputes between them two are on the rise every now and again!
