So, during COVID dievca got sucked down the YouTube Rabbit Hole watching Phil Wright Choreography videos of families performing after learning a dance piece together. The first video she saw was this and she absolutely loved the first group of a Mom and two daughters.
The beginning of another video has this Mother/Son duo and dievca thought the Mom was an amazing dancer – perhaps she was a professional Lindy Hop dancer:
Comparing the Jon Batiste Video (above) and the Rockin’ Robin – they are not the same dancer.
But, watching these videos, again, made dievca smile because she shared them with her Mom before she passed and they had a good time watching together. Mom keep saying she would have loved to get the lessons for the Great Grandkids and their Parents, but the Midwest is an awfully long way from Los Angeles…
Anyways, dievca’s Mom and Dad met at a Dance Hall – they were an amazing Jitterbug couple.

Is jitterbug the same as Lindy Hop?
Lindy Hop, also known as the jitterbug, was developed in the 1920’s and is said to be the original form of swing dance. The term ‘jitterbug’ is however commonly used to describe any swing dancer and is derived from the visual display of the dancers on the floor who look like jitterbugs with the fast, bouncy movements.

dievca had a lovely Greek Dinner her first night at the beach. The entertainment for the evening started with a Belly Dancer in LED wings. dievca took a couple of Belly Dancing classes when she arrived in NYC- she shimmys well, though her rib cage undulations needed work. It wasn’t her thing, but she might have enough movement to make her Master smile with the wings….
The two questions are: How much are the LED wings? (around $50) and is there enough room in a NYC apartment for the wings to flow? (No)

Bachata at Bryant Park

It is danced widely all over the world but not identically. The basics to the dance are three-step with a Cuban hip motion, followed by a tap including a hip movement on the 4th beat.
Throughout the Summer, in NYC, there is live music and dancing at various venues:
Lincoln Center, Bryant Park, Meatpacking District , the High Line, etc.
dievca’s Home Opener for summer dancing was in Bryant Park: Bachata
Since dievca is on the “free” WordPress Plan, she had to convert her video to a gif and lost the sound.
The Bryant Park offering was free and had a lesson before the heavy dancing began. Yes, a lot of people with Latin roots came out to dance, but there was a strong showing from the Asian population and more. dievca opted for a glass of Rosé with a friend during the class and hit the dance floor afterward. Inexpensive fun!

On a side note: the public bathrooms at Bryant Park have been renovated and are insanely nice….so if you are caught out in NYC and need to go — make sure you are around NYC Main Public Library to use the “Taj Mahal” of public bathrooms.
Finding a Way (Presentation Outfit)

That makes wearing certain styles a trick. And normally, dievca just avoids those styles.
For instance,
a 1960’s Go-Go mini-skirt shift dress:
It is a style dievca avoids….
until she saw Master looking at a museum exhibition of them with fondness.
Obviously, the fashion holds some great memories for Him.
So, now she has taken on the Go-Go Dress as a Presentation Outfit for Master.
dievca plans to buy one and get it altered to her curves as best as possible
or she might have a friend make her a dress with a vintage pattern.
Then it will be the quest for Go-Go Boots.
Poufy hair and cat eyes are not a problem.
Add a little groovy music and maybe dievca will swing her Master’s memories back here:

Hopefully, Master will dance with His dievca at arms length
and then invite her to sit on His lap.
Perhaps His hands will wander up her mini-skirt.
