Ilili was ‘hopping’ on a Tuesday Night. The bar, two large rooms and outside dining was full. Look, NYC – like other places, went through a long haul with COVID-19 numbers – NYC locals are ready to GET OUT. It was a beautiful vibe last night, and the amazing work from the Vaccine developers made it happen. A HUGE ‘Thank You’ to them.
(PS. Yes, the economy of NYC is based on tourism, but selfishly – not running into any tourists is a great treat.)

dievca had dinner at the Zodiac Room in Neiman Marcus Hudson Yards. It was a soft opening and the restaurant was empty. There were unlimited Popovers and dievca’s sparkling rosés were filled to the brim. All in all, a lovely evening.
What dievca wore:
She may not have looked good (she thinks she did), but she felt fabulous!
They had Popovers galore — and dievca knows that popovers are not good on the 2nd day, but she took one home to try again… Hmmm, did they give her the strawberry butter? Hah! They did!
On her way out of the store — dievca loved this sweatshirt (left), but it is handmade and $450…
And the Big Apple Le Creuset is cute (right), but it cannot compete with the one that dievca’s friend gave her for her birthday,,,
She has used it like crazy!
Did dievca tell you about her friend packing the Le Creuset dutch oven in her suitcase, coming from Europe and TSA thinking it was a —- well, something of interest. When dievca opened up her gift it was wrapped heavily in TSA tape.

Fresh Cut Green Peppers and Tomatoes from the Fire Escape with carrots from the Farmer’s Market along with Goat Cheese and Wisconsin Rye Crackers.
Master brought the wine:
Conversation and cooking occurred for the next 1.5 hours.
Dinner was served at 6:30 pm sharp!
(a little late for the Midwest, but a 1/2 way point with NYC)
Marinated Baked Pork Chops with Garlic Mashed Potatoes:
After Dinner a little more conversation and relaxing — no hurrying at all.

After an irritated meltdown moment and two Alice + Olivia dresses being banished to the resale bag — dievca came up with an alternative of a Lanvin Silk Dress (Ete 2006) and black Charles Jourdan Heels, dressed down with brass accents:
Next panic attack — forgotten dinner for a High School Graduate. Fastest way to get there after work is on a bike, weather was “iffy”. Hot during the day and cooling off at night.
dievca’s Humanoid silk Ellen dress (2013) came to the rescue with the same brass jewelry (Hey, it was already together, in a bag, and easy to grab). J Crew Navy blue ribbed cashmere sweater for the cool restaurant, Barneys Sandals and Liebeskind Navy Leather Backpack for the ride…whew!
