Pallet DIY

Where dievca’s mind goes~

dievca receives e-mail notices for a blog: http://www.ilovegreeninspiration.com

Marinella is an Italian Architect and Interior Designer and her blog scans fashion, interiors, lifestyle items, etc.

This post arrived in dievca’s inbox : http://ilovegreeninspiration.com/2014/08/23/pallets/

It was a post showing the use of Pallets as furniture.  Now, dievca is eclectic and could fit a Pallet piece in her Apartment, but it is not something that she would normally seek out….until she thought of the BDSM applications… dievca loves to be restrained by Master’s cuffs or chained by Master’s collar to a point in a room. Restraints could be connected to ALL theses pieces. Pallets have holes and slots available and some of the tables have wheels – they could be modular and moved. Very Interesting. A way to hide the BDSM oriented furniture and bring it out when needed. Stealth.

Let me offer some photos or take a look at Marinella’s post and see what you think.

Could you imagine hosting a D/s party and the subs could be connected as the Doms / Dommes go about their business — released to serve and then connected, again? Perhaps on display?

As dievca was scanning the photos, all she could think of was “Maybe Master would connect me here, put my hands up there, spread me out completely, wrap me around, bend me over” – OK, you get the idea. The Good News is some of these products can be purchased or if you or your Sir/Madame is handy — an inexpensive DIY project.  The padded pieces of furniture look to be more comfortable but perhaps pain, humiliation, or exhibitionism is part of your process — again, dievca thinks you can see the options.

dievca prefers the outdoor pieces. she is not an exhibitionist but would love to be connected to or spread for Master in the fresh air. Played with or left alone as He desires. she loves that there are many ways to be attached without killing the furniture and the padded portions offer Master comfort outside as he works, ignores or focuses on dievca.

Street Style or Coach? dievca’s DIY …. leather jacket

Penguin Push Pindievca was walking down 34th Street and she saw a Black Lady in a boring dress, but with an AWESOME leather jacket over it. It looked like a vintage 1990’s Wilson’s basic Leather jacket, and the Lady put pins all over the front.

No camera for a sneak snapshot….

The NEXT day, dievca was walking down 34th Street, again, and she saw an Asian Gentleman in a simple black leather jacket (Wilson’s?) with PINS on the front. It looked amazing! dievca thought to herself, “this must be a thing!”

For the second time, dievca wasn’t able to get a snapshot…

So, dievca wanted to tell you all about the NYC street style and went looking for photos online and ran into the COACH Embellished Racer Jacket. Sigh. And here she thought those two people were being so creative.

Coach EMBELLISHED leather jacket with pins

Wait!?!?!? Maybe those people created their jackets before COACH did, or maybe not. But, they still made their own and theirs looked better than the COACH offering. Just say’n.

dievca is trying to remember if she has her Wilson’s Leather jacket anymore.
It looked something like this:

There was a Men’s version, too.

So, get out your old leather jacket and collect your pins — whatever has meaning to you or makes you smile:

Lapel Pins

Well, if dievca finds her old school Wilson’s Leather jacket – she knows that she has pins from her childhood….a cool jacket will be created and it won’t be a COACH (MSRP: $1995)….it will be a dievca ORIGINAL!

Since writing this post dievca visited a flea market and look what she found!!!20151122_134055_resized20151122_134114_resized
Aha! Design ideas abound!
There might be a future “It took me a year, but I completed my DIY project” post. 😀

Perhaps tacky, but dievca did it! DIY

Charlotte Olympia Flower Heels

About a year ago, dievca mentioned that she was cleaning out her closets, eBaying items and limiting her purchases. (A DIY moment? Maybe….) Her amount of purchasing of clothing and accessories has diminished quite a bit this past year.  Probably, because her attention was diverted with Life emergencies and changes.  The pleasure of looking and shopping took a backseat to more important issues

As dievca has come up for air, she took a day for herself: to see the movie “Cinderella” in the Theatre with a girlfriend, got a mani/pedi, eBay-ed a backlog of items and completed a DIY shoe project she started last year.

Her DIY project was inspired by these Charlotte Olympia heels and her constraints were that she had to use a pair of shoes from her closet.

dievca cheated a little bit. she had helped her parents clear out their house and her Mom had a pair of ivory satin shoes exclusively made for Rosenthal’s Department Store. The shoes were dievca’s oldest Aunt’s wedding shoes in the 1930’s and worn heavily afterward. They fit dievca very well.

dievca brought them back to NYC and checked in with her favorite shoe repair shop. They said that they couldn’t clean them, nor could they dye them navy blue — but they could be dyed black.

The shoes looked great when they came back from their dye job and simple repairs.  So, good that dievca was indecisive about adding flowers. she dragged her heels until she did a spot test with rubber cement and hot glue.  The hot glue could be picked off the shoes without damage, so dievca could add her flowers and if she hated them – remove the flowers safely.

20150402_134423_resized_1 20150402_134448_resized

OK – dievca is not a glue gun demon…a small NYC apartments don’t offer a lot of space to work. 7 inches in front of a microwave on a glass cutting board is tricky. That said, here is dievca’s DIY offering for Spring.

20150403_131123_resized 20150403_131109_resizedHmmm, not so good. In fact….kinda “Tacky”, but fun.  dievca wore them for Easter and with a sprig of the leftover flowers in her tote bag.

The shoes were comfortable and held up well until she got to Master’s Apartment and then the piece which encased the heel of the foot pulled away from the sole. It can be repaired…but is it worth it?

So, dievca did her “Spring Goddess” presentation for Master without the shoes or stockings. She came to Him in bare feet, stained a little purple/blue from the shoe dye even after being washed….

Random Conclusions

Fin

There are some posts that dievca talks about different items she wants or owns. Things that she is looking to purchase or considering to change/modify.
dievca has never really offered a conclusion to those posts.

Here is her chance:
Remember that Anya Hindmarch Earl Valentine Tote?

dievca was able to buy one from Japan (don’t ask, it was a convoluted experience) —-
and she absolutely loves it!

The nude Isabel Marant sandals?

Too much money….but dievca bought theses Mexican HUARACHE sandals  for $25.00 and is very happy with them.

Her dilemma with wearing a crop top as an older person solved by a H&M quilted crop top sweatshirt:

H and M quilted crop top sweatshirtSomething laser-cut?  (dievca has been wearing these DKNY laser-cut sneakers to break them in for her Mother):

dievca has talked about getting a leopard print something or other and she did,
the Ralph Lauren Kailee platform pumps.

dievca didn’t join in the Espadrille Design competition, but she found theses shoes by Be&D :

And the reason this post was written is a current failure….dievca talked about having “floral” shoes for the Spring and doing a DIY for them (A DIY Moment: Maybe?)  dievca took a pair of her Aunt’s wedding shoes from the 1930’s to the shoemaker to be repaired.  They never did anything to fix them and forgot to call, then they got lost and, now, dievca hasn’t been able to go and pick them up.  This project might turn into a year-long project. Sigh.  Here are the before photos:

Give dievca a year and we will see what happens.

A DIY moment? Maybe….

DIY – Do It Yourself

dievca is trying to clean out her closets drastically to match Master’s sensibility about materialism:
Less is More.
But, her passion for fashion takes over on many occasions. Master does not expect dievca to follow His leanings because He knows that fashion brings her a great deal of joy.

But, dievca is at the point where she needs to have a clear out.

It is really bad when she asks her Mom to help her weed out dresses that are not flattering and they both end up looking in the mirror and saying ” I know why you bought that dress.” “Oh, that is lovely.” “You cannot get rid of that…” Not good.

This occurs with shoes, too.

When dievca decided that she would like to buy a pair of heels with flowers for Spring, the Charlotte Olympia version was  the Holy Grail that spoke to her.  But trying to stay within her new rules — items need to leave the house, not come in — dievca is trying to put her DIY skills to good use.

she found these DIY shoe sites:
http://www.brit.co/diy-shoe-hacks/
http://www.trendhunter.com/slideshow/classy-diy-shoe#1)
Plus this photo of DIY Floral Heels for inspiration.  Currently, dievca is scouring her shoe collection for a pair that can be drafted for her project.

Wish her luck because she is still lusting over those Charlotte Olympia Flower Heels…

Does anyone else have trouble clearing their closets? or have a DIY clothing project going?
