It is said Sarah Bernhardt created a scandal by applying “lip rouge” in public. Queen Victoria considered it impolite, yet Winston Churchill thought it was an excellent morale booster during WWII and George Washington supposedly was a lipstick wearer.
dievca received her first Chanel Lipstick from a good friend who felt she deserved better than the drugstore brands.
What color do you wear, or like to see?

dievca has learned that her make-up technique just needed some tweaking and you need to build it up for photos because you lose 50%. she also learned that her face is not model material – but it is kind and children love it. (Or maybe that is just her personality coming out — boys, of all ages, tend to love dievca)
dievca also learned that you want your face to be the largest item for the camera, so you don’t push your pelvis forward or stick you hip out to the camera. (she does this all the time…)
dievca learned that good friends giggling with you makes the process easier. And the people watching you appreciate and smile when they know you are having fun. Taking photos with friends in them are more natural.
dievca learned that her friend is a really good make-up artist and photographer.

dievca has never caused an accident due to her inattention to traffic because of make-up.

Now? You will be happy to know that dievca does not own a car. Therefore, she is not behind the wheel putting on make-up anymore… Instead, she does the NYC version and sometimes puts her make-up on in a cab, on the subway, or she catches herself watching people (Men and Women — it’s NYC, people!) putting their make-up on. It is fascninating — she is not alone. It’s the opportunity to be a voyeur into someone’s personal life. Plus, you might learn some cool application tricks.
Yes, some people are offended. But for some reason dievca will get upset about people cutting their nails, but not when someone puts mascara on their eyelashes without poking out their eyeball.
Go figure~dievca has various levels of tolerances for public grooming.

You may have noticed that dievca doesn’t really talk about cosmetics. she is not passionate about makeup, not knowledgeable about it – even though she had to wear a lot of makeup at certain times in her Life. (MAC Cosmetics – was the only option offered. A good choice~)
That said, dievca ran into a blurb about Charlotte Tilbury‘s Limited Edition offerings at Bergdorf Goodman and she was seduced by the packaging.
British born, Tilbury is something of a legend in the industry, credited for painting the faces of clients including Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Victoria Beckham, Penelope Cruz and Rihanna. She has worked with many well-known photographers including Mario Testino and Mert and Marcus and magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, LOVE and V Magazine. Her portfolio includes high-profile fashion shows and campaigns such as Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, Rachel Zoe and Missoni.
Again, dievca is (sadly) enamoured with the Charlotte Tilbury & Norman Parkinson packaging of some limited edition items. And of CT’s “Beach Sticks” — enough so, that she will be running over to BG to see what is what.
