Something of Use

Saved a life this morning, pre-coffee

When you are riding, walking, running, scootering in the City – you can’t be worrying about the people you are with – its every Man (Women, Child) for themselves. FOCUS!  An older runner was following her “pack” across the Westside Highway – not looking at the lights – the youngsters sprinted (like fools) and she was trotting behind straight into oncoming traffic. dievca yelled and the Lady turned to make it back to the sidewalk right before getting hit.  Even though the Lady was older, dievca hollered at her and said, “focus on yourself” after the Lady muttered, “I assumed my girls were watching the lights”.

When a human head cracks on the pavement it sounds like a watermelon thumping. dievca is not interested in hearing that sound and sticking around to help with the mess. If you come to the City – please pay attention and don’t depend upon others – depend upon yourself. XO

dievca was little too shaky to have coffee immediately – her adrenaline was surging.

Sticky and Wet

20210702_131229With the humidity in NYC,
one cannot escape sweating.
dievca arrived at Master’s wet and sticky.
All was solved with soap, water and shower sex.
Something to be taken carefully,
but worth the effort to beat the heat.
XO

Just so we are all on the same page.

Good Morning, Good Week, Safe BDSM.

Safety First! – something useful

When dievca was in College she lived in an older dorm that had deep oak window frames/casings which went up almost to the 12 foot ceilings. After doing laundry at 3:00 am, she stood on the sofa and when that didn’t work, the windowsill, to hang up a sweatshirt on a hanger to dry from the window rod.

she slipped, she fell, she sounded like an elephant when she ricocheted off the window ledge hitting the right side of her back thigh, she hit the floor, she woke her roommate. The bruising was huge and you can still feel the ledge-shaped divet in her muscle/fat…yep, just checked – still there.

What dievca learned is that you should own decent step ladders, AND USE THEM!

Her NYC apartment doesn’t have ceilings quite as high as her dorm room, but they reach 9 feet in some areas.  That makes painting a wall without an extension pole a little too much for dievca – but with the 3 step-ladder? A snap!

Something that has traveled with dievca from space to space are the two Cosco Step Ladders from Bed, Bath and Beyond. The two-step and three-step versions:

Cosco® Signature Premium Folding Step Stool (click photo to purchase)

At $29.99 and $39.99 — an excellent and useful buy. They fit behind opened doors or in closets.

When getting on in age, the bruises don’t fade as fast and braking a bone is a more likely option~

Yeah…

#2 Tossware

Yikes!  Rooftops in NYC are really windy and it’s not safe to have crystal wineglasses get knocked over or break on the concrete.

Tossware is a brand of reusable, recyclable crystal clear plastic-ware which is elegant for parties where traditional crystal is not a smart idea.

dievca found it very elegant to use, it washes well and stacks/stores easily for the cupboard or storage unit.

Excellent for a NYC apartment building and just as good for the Suburbia Football Saturdays grilling out on the patio.

dievca bought her Tossware on Amazon.

Take a look:

You can even go on to the Tossware site and get pieces made for your event or use their fun graphics:

So, I was thinking about frostbite…

But I don’t live in Wisconsin…

It’s cold. No, it’s not Montana, North Dakota, Canada cold – but it’s enough to worry about windchill when you ride a bike to work and the wind comes off the river and whips through the buildings.  dievca was pedalling at a standstill today.

This chart is her friend:

Today’s (Thursday’s) temps in Celsius were -11C (low) to -7.22C (high) winds running at 5-10 mph with gusts at 22 mph. Fahrenheit 12F (low) to 19F (high). It will continue to be cold through the New Year.

dievca’s ride is less than 30 minutes, so she has been good.  But, it makes for tears, frozen breath, and ridiculous-looking layered outfits. When its cold, fashion goes out the window….
Apparently that is the theme, this week, safety first.

Here are dievca’s cold weather standbys:

dievca wishes you luck and stay warm.

Master,
I know that you like surprises, but I am stuck on shoe choices. Could you help me?

I have two options for safer balance. Which shoes would you prefer?

Thank you,
your wet dievča

Lumos Helmet

dievca may be looking at moving uptown (closer to Master). That means her bike commute would be extended. Less biking on main thoroughfares, more biking on pathways. Not a big deal in the Summer – lots of light. It does make a difference in the Winter, especially when dievca has to do an early morning ride.

dievca spotted this helmet at MoMa:

LUMOS HELMET

Pricey.
But what is the price of safety?

A dream on Kickstarter in 2015
