Reusable shopping tote from Baggu in Earth Snoopy $12

Looking for a Host/Hostess gift? something of use

dievca is a huge fan of Baggu Bags and has used a couple of them until they actually wore out! She’ll replace them at some point, but as a change of pace – she ran into these recycled taffeta, embroidered totes:

EMROIDERED THANK YOU TOTE

The typical American family uses 1,500 plastic bags every year. But thanks to designer Lauren DiCioccio, you can cut down on waste and look really cool doing it. Her funky embroidered fabric bag was inspired by San Francisco’s 2007 plastic bag ban. She keeps the same cheerful “thank you” messages on each bag, but uses recycled taffeta instead of plastic. Take one out next time you’re shopping or offer one as a gift to pass along the Earth-loving vibes. They (the family/friends or Host/Hostess) can reuse and reduce ‘til it wears out. Made in San Francisco.

One hit elegance – something of use

tsuchiya-kaban-2 watermelon tote
Its always a challenge to carry a watermelon home from the Grocery Store – especially when you are walking.

Japanese designer, Tsuchiya Kaban, leather bag provides an elegant, luxury vessel tote around your fruit. Holding one round watermelon, the carrier was crafted by Yusuke Kadoi as part of a project titled “The Fun of Carrying”, which encouraged designers to create playful, inventive items as side projects.

The bag is just a concept – if it was put into production, there may be an audience for it!

Have you snuck off to the beach, yet?

Ava Gardner in a bikini

dievca hasn’t…yet.
If she can get there she would like to take this Clare V. Denim Tote:

dievca regrets to tell you that she no longer looks like Ava — more like this sunbather:

A Wal-Mart Gem (something of use)

dievca took herself out of her Mother’s house to avoid — well, let’s just say she had to kill three hours.  Masked and gloved she got gas, ran to CVS (pharmacy), and wandered Wal-Mart.

Her sister-in-law is disdainful about purchasing anything from Wal-Mart, but dievca rolls with it.  she was able to get some lovely “grateful” cards to use as “Thank You” notes for people who acknowledged her Dad’s passing. Much sweeter and happier than the regular notes.

she was also able to get something stylish, eco-friendly, inexpensive, and of use.

The cotton tote is simple, roomy, 100% cotton, made in California, and other shopping bags offered are made from recycled bottles (PET). All the styles can be found on Amazon:
