Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.
~Doug Larson

dievca froze her bum off this evening.
There was a windchill factor by the river…
when she walked home.
dievca hasn’t taken her down coat off, yet~

Isn’t it supposed to be Spring?

Boo cold! We still have watering restrictions here (it’s gone on for years), which means we have a small window of opportunity it to put down seed or sod before restrictions for the summer go into effect. New seed or sod needs a lot of water. We had snow on and off throughout April so we haven’t been able fix the front lawn yet. I think we’really finally in the clear. We have to get a lot of yard work done tomorrow. I need the heat!

Good Luck with all the outdoors work tomorrow. Crossing my fingers for you. I can’t help, I’ll be at “work” work for 12 + hours. You guys are on your own, but I’ll send love. XO

Someone furry to snuggle with is great! They turned the heat on in the building, last night. Some older folks are my neighbors and they need the heat. 🙂

Here’s one of my favourite authors looking forward like you…”
“Spring flew swiftly by, and summer came; and if the village had been beautiful at first, it was now in the full glow and luxuriance of its richness. The great trees, which had looked shrunken and bare in the earlier months, had now burst into strong life and health; and stretching forth their green arms over the thirsty ground, converted open and naked spots into choice nooks, where was a deep and pleasant shade from which to look upon the wide prospect, steeped in sunshine, which lay stretched out beyond. The earth had donned her mantle of brightest green; and shed her richest perfumes abroad. It was the prime and vigour of the year; all things were glad and flourishing.” – Charles Dickens

Ah, Ret — how lovely. Thank you. You are right, the trees are blooming, as are the Spring bulbs on the High Line. But, it was hard to see with the hood of my down coat over my ears and my eyes looking downward as I pressed against the wind to get home. XO
